              My fascination with for this  magnificent  breed  began when I was just a young girl and recall a gentleman walking by our house  with this spectacular beast of elegance and beauty holding it's head with such pride and myself dreaming of perhaps one day having my own. I would search for the man with the elegant dog and  some days  I would get to see him, yet other days would go by and I would wait  so patiently just to view  that dog  once again ...
 
                  Years  would pass by and  yet I continued to have  such a  strong passion to know more  about this  breed. As I grew up, got  married and had  my family, once they were grown  as  teenagers, I began my research on the  German Shepherd , to perhaps  own one of  my own.I would often go to visit  my family in Quebec and  this  one  week-end I was  visiting my sister  and to my surprize  she  had  a  female  which had  just given birth to a litter  of 9 - 10 pups. It  was  during that week-end  that I was  told  I could  choose  one  of my own from this litter and  I chose  a  female pup and  named her  "Bella Kula". She  was  my introduction to this  breed and  upon  working with Kula  I knew  I had  the  chosen breed for me. Kula lived  to the  ripe  old age of  12  yrs  and  she taught me  alot about  myself  as well as us  training at BADEN K9's  doing protection training and little  tracking, I was hooked !! My old girl died  of  Histeosarcoma  in May /2009.
              Back When Kula was 14 mths old, after  much research in the  breed, I found  that white  german shepherds  existed, altho NOT  accepted  in the  GSDCC, I decided  to take  on the  task of Breeding for  Sound  Health & Temperment, and to not cast  a good  specimen aside  simply for  a  coat  color, so we  attended the  White  Shepherd  Club of  Canada  shows  and  met  with breeders and after having my Breeder of  choice,and  awaiting the  breeding and pregnancy, we  finally brought home  Our  Foundation Brood Bith "Banta". 
 
               Over the  years, having been learning so much about the breed standard and  the  importance  of health testing and  breeding for  specific  traits from proven bloodlines I knew I could  ONLY breed  good  sound  dogs. Seeing that this  breed  also came  in different  coat  colors as well as  coat lenghts we  chose to breed for  White, Black and  Everything inbetween.
 
               Here  at POLABEARAS our  pups  are  sold on a  CKC Non-Breeding contract, with a  3 yr  written Genetic  Health Guarantee and  a  Purchaser's  Agreement. Pup's  leave  at 8 wks  of  age once they are  tattoed and  have  their  1st  vaccination.We  are  a  small Breeding Kennel located  in Alexandria, Ontario just 1 1/2 hr from Montreal and about  1 1/2 - 2 hrs  from Ottawa and  approx 45mins to 1 hr  from Cornwall, Ontario. We  breed a variety of  colors and  coat lenghts from white, solid black, bi-colored, blk & tn, and  we  will have sables as well. We  breed for the  regular  coats as well as  longcoated. We 've  been now  Breeding German Shepherds  for over 12 years now.
